Where Love Lingers Quietly”

Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?

Where Love Lingers Quietly”

Life often feels like a journey through a maze, with twists and turns that leave us searching for purpose and connection. Along the way, we yearn for the feeling of being truly loved—a warmth that reassures, heals, and stays with us. For me, love hasn’t always been a loud proclamation. Instead, it has lingered quietly, revealing itself in unexpected places and fleeting moments, leaving a profound impact on my heart.

One such instance occurred during my years as an educator. My days were filled with the chatter of students, the dedication of teachers, and the rhythm of school life. It was a demanding role, often isolating, as I bore the responsibility of leadership. Yet, amidst the chaos, there were moments when the quiet gratitude of a student or a heartfelt note from a colleague would fill my heart with a sense of belonging. It was in these subtle acts of kindness that I felt truly appreciated and seen—not for my position, but for the person I was.

Another instance came during a mundane walk in nature, where the rustle of leaves and the gentle breeze seemed to wrap me in an embrace of serenity. In those solitary moments, I felt a connection to the world around me—a kind of love that didn’t need words or gestures but simply existed. It was as if the universe itself was whispering, “You are enough.”

Music, too, has been a steadfast companion in my life, offering solace when the world felt distant. The melodies of classical ragas or the timeless charm of an old song have often felt like a friend who understands without judgment. In these notes and rhythms, I’ve found a love that transcends time—a reminder that we are never truly alone.

Even in professional setbacks or personal struggles, I’ve encountered love in the form of unexpected support from strangers. A kind word, a helping hand, or even a shared smile can carry immense weight when life feels heavy. These seemingly small gestures have often reaffirmed my belief in humanity’s inherent goodness.

What I’ve learned is that love doesn’t always come in grand gestures or from expected sources. It often exists in the quiet corners of life, waiting for us to notice. It’s in the beauty of a sunrise, the comfort of a familiar song, or the understanding glance of a stranger. Love, when we look closely, is everywhere—it’s in the moments we share, the connections we build, and even in the times we spend with ourselves.

Perhaps, the most profound realisation is that love isn’t just something we receive—it’s something we cultivate. When we approach life with openness and gratitude, we begin to see the love that has always surrounded us, hidden in plain sight. And in those moments, we find that we are not alone—we are cherished, valued, and, indeed, loved.
